“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
― C.S. Lewis
Danville's ELL program is designed to help students who are learning Engish as a second language to reach proficient levels of achievement in the academic areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. We nurture self-efficacy and self-identity in our English learners by recognizing and celebrating each student's linguistic and cultural background.
We engage parents/families to be active partners in the educational process.
Ms. Sarisky attended schools in California and New Jersey before graduating from Millville Area High School in Millville PA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from Penn State University. a Master of Education, Reading Specialist from Bloomsburg & her OG certification from the Children's Dyslexia Center. She earned her English as a Second Language Certification from Susquehanna University and is currently enrolled in the Ed.D. program at Immaculata University. Her doctoral thesis is examining issues regarding English Language Learners and ways schools can support their educational pursuits.
Prior to working in Danville, Ms. Sarisky worked as a 9-12th grade English teacher at The Keystone School, was a Behavioral Specialist for Northwestern Human Services, and tutored for the Children’s Dyslexia Center of the Susquehanna Valley.
