Principal's Message - 4/1/2020. Welcome to Distance Learning at DPS!
KIDS! Visit the DPS Library - ONLINE!
It is hard to believe that next week begins our 6th week of distance learning. I have received many kind words from families appreciative of the efforts our teachers have put into this process. Online learning in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade seemed impossible two months ago but these amazing educators have made it possible. With that said, next week begins teacher appreciation week, there is no doubt that we are all realizing the impact of our teachers. Please consider reaching out to your child's teacher, or a teacher that impacted your life in a positive manner and thank them. It might just be what they needed during these challenging times. We will once again have packet distribution on Monday, May 4 at the primary school. Parents of students who are unable to participate in our distance learning can pick up grade level packets for their child between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm in front of the primary school. Included on this page are links for each family to complete a survey regarding their child. This information assists us in next year's class placement.
I know many families have questions about pickup of items left at school, fundraisers, yearbooks, etc. At this time we are still under the governor's stay at home order. We are hopeful in May to be able to provide opportunities to take care of these items, but the reality is we need to follow the directives currently in place. I will continue to provide updates as they are available. Please use this site as well as our Primary School Facebook page (danvilleprimaryschool) for updates. Our teacher's websites located at the link above entitled "Teacher Sites" is your link to your child's teacher!
We have had many questions regarding Kindergarten registration. Our team is currently working on creating a process to do this online. As soon as we have specifics we will make them public.
Please continue to use this time as an opportunity to engage with your children and be grateful for the happiness they bring into your lives. I hope you are all the healthy and wish you all the best. Please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com if you have any questions.I hope all families are doing well and we continue to miss our DPS family.
