About Mrs. Michaels.......

  • As I enter my 23rd year of teaching, here's a little bit about myself......

I have been a life-long resident of Danville and take a lot of pride in our community.  I graduated from Danville High School in 1996.  I went on to attend Bucknell University and graduated with a degree in mathematics/secondary education in May 2000.  Upon graduation, I was hired at Danville High School and began my teaching career in August 2000.  By 2003, I completed my masters in education through Marygrove College.  I taught various math courses at Danville High School from 2000-2016.  In August of 2016, I moved to the Middle School where I now teach Keystone Algebra and Geometry to our 8th graders.

Outside of school, I am an avid traveler, sports fan, and fitness guru.  Aside from the contiguous US, my family has traveled to Hawaii, England(2), Scotland(2), Italy, Turks and Caicos, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, and Ireland.  The best education we've given our children has come through travel!

I love everything about physical fitness and have a passion for training.  Never take for granted the gift of movement.  Additionally, my family cheers on all PSU sports teams, as well as the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

Most importantly, the pride and joy of my life is my family.   I have two beautiful daughters, Kamryn (16) and Kylie (11), and a wonderful husband, Brett, who is an ELA teacher at Shikellamy High School.
