Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Meagan Bond
¡Hola y bienvenidos! Hello and welcome!
My name is Señora Meagan Bond and I will be teaching your child's Spanish class this year. I am so excited to begin my fourth year at DMS and will be instructing 6th grade Spanish Explorers, 7th/8th grade Spanish 1B, and 8th grade Foundations of Spanish.
I graduated from Lock Haven University in 2013 with a dual Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Communication Media and a minor in Dance. I graduated in December 2017 with a Master's degree in Spanish Education from California University of Pennsylvania.
I have been studying Spanish for over 15 years. Aside from the technical aspects of the language, I enjoy reading and studying Hispanic literature and researching Hispanic social problems. I have travelled to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Spain for pleasure/educational trips and have been to Guatemala on four humanitarian service trips and have served as an economic development worker in Mayan villages as well as a medical translator.
In my free time, I enjoy practicing classical ballet, reading, travelling, watching soccer, studying Mayan language, and spending time with my husband, Christopher. We have two sons, Atticus Jack, who will turn three years old in November and Henry Robert, who was born this August. We also have one cat named Bob Dylan and a redbone coonhound named Lola.
I look forward to an outstanding year in Spanish class and for the opportunity to pass along my passion for the language and culture to your child!
¡Muchas gracias! Thank you so much!
